Konecranes Machine Tool Service, one of the leading manufacturers in machine tool maintenance, just inked a distribution and service agreement with Ohio-based Omative Systems North America. According to sources, the said agreement will enable Konecranes to represent several tools and products designed by Omative Systems, including their real-time and software-based systems for vibration monitoring, machine maintenance, adaptive machining, and shop floor production management.
“We have just consummated an agreement to sell these productivity enhancements and maintenance troubleshooting tools to our customers, and also to provide service and perform installations for Omative’s customers when needed,” stated Harold Schoch, Konecranes Machine Tool Service’s Vice President for Sales.
The agreement will make up a key alliance between the two huge companies. Omative Systems, particularly, have products that are utilised worldwide, normally throughout the metal-cutting industry. The rising demand for their most recent array of products indeed made them perfectly suitable as Konecranes Machine Tool Service’s strategic partner.
Also noted by Schoch, they are eyeing for relationships with companies, such as Omative Systems, which are the best in the class and do offer state-of-the-art products. In the same statement, he explained: “Omative has products that we are excited about, and this relationship will allow us to promote several high-end technologies to our customers. Their ACM product for adaptive control monitoring of CNC machines not only captures data, it also makes real-time adjustments to the machine that increase productivity and prolong tool life.”
The ACM is just one of the options that Konecranes Machine Tool Service will be offering on every CNC control retrofit that they will do. This system monitors the speed, feed rate, and the torque that the machine’s spindle experiences during cutting. Aside from the ACM System, the company will also be offering Omative’s VCM vibration monitoring system, which is designed to help shops prevent catastrophic tool breakage.
“This relationship is a win-win situation for both companies,” said Mark Zuckerman, Omative Systems’ President and CEO, with regard to the agreement. “We seek to work with partners who can bring value to us and who we can bring value to as well. That’s how I see this relationship with Konecranes Machine Tool Service — a natural partnership of two companies providing unique services, who together can deliver today’s best options for machine tool productivity and support.”
